Organic Baby Clothing ELLERSLIE
Filed Under (Organic Baby Clothes) by Kaye on 26-03-2008
Back before I had my baby, I never imagined I would belong to a mothers group. However, now that I am finally a mum, talking to other women about what is going on in my life has been a huge help. We discuss how we bring up our children, what to do and not to do, we share recipes, and we love to discuss the latest baby outfits we have bought.
I generally meet with 2 other women, once a fortnight, to catch up on the latest gossip. We usually meet at Bears Den (which is in ELLERSLIE, GA) as that is quite central for all of us. Last week was really exciting as we chatted about organic baby clothing. I have been feeding my baby boy organic food from day one but it had never crossed my mind to getting organic clothing for her.
Cotton is one of the most popular plants in America and one of the most harmful to the ecosystem and to farm workers. The run off from cotton farms has damaged habitats and particularly water supplies. Organic produce is grown without the need for artificial fertilisers and pesticides. Instead, organic farming depends upon things like crop rotation, raising the quality of soils naturally, and using organic pest control methods.
Benefits of Organic Baby Clothing
Getting organic clothes means you are purchasing products which have been produced in an environmentally friendly manner, or at the very least in a way which causes less pollution of the environment. No or a reduction in the use of pesticides and synthetic fertilisers means less pollution of our land and waterways, fewer health problems for farm employees, and fewer health risks for children by moderating their contact with dangerous chemicals.
Quite a few producers of baby clothes also make a range of organic clothes or you can find companies completely devoted to organic baby clothing. Anyway, there are a lot of brands to choose from and all ages are taken care of, from babies to teenagers. Of course, organic fashion for men and women is also obtainable and I am looking into that for myself and my man.
I do not think that I am only going to get organic cotton or bamboo clothing (which is a great alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my child but I am absolutely going try to whenever it is available.
