Organic Baby Clothing DURHAM

Back before I had my first child, I had not believed I would belong to a mothers group. Anyhow, now that I have become a mum, talking to other mothers about what is happening in my life has really helped me. We talk about how we bring up our children, what to do and not to do, we share baby food recipes, and we like to chat about the latest baby fashions we have bought.

I more often than not get together with 3 other mothers, once a week, to find out the latest new. We often meet at Talk of the Town Restaurant (which is in DURHAM, NC) as that is fairly central for all of us. Last week was really eye opening seeing we talked about organic baby clothing. I have been providing my baby organic produce from the beginning but I had not considered purchasing organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most widely grown crops in the US and one of the most devastating to the ecosystem and to farmers. The run off from non-organic cotton farms has destroyed the environment and in particular water bodies. Organic products are grown without the need for artificial fertilisers and pesticides. Instead, organic farming relies on things like crop rotation, improving soils naturally, and using organic pest control methods.

You can buy beautiful organic baby clothes online from a number of stores. Sckoon has some gorgeous organic baby clothing.

Benefits of Organic Baby Clothing

Purchasing organic produce means you are purchasing products which have been produced in an eco friendly manner, or at the very least in a way which causes less damage to our habitat. No or reduced use of insecticides and fertilizers means less pollution of our farms and rivers, reduced cancers for farm workers, and fewer health risks for our children by lessening their contact with dangerous chemicals.

Quite a few wholesalers of baby clothes also make a range of organic clothing or you can find shops entirely devoted to organic baby clothing. Anyway, there are a lot of marks to choose from and all ages are taken care of, from toddlers to adolescents. Naturally, organic clothing for men and women is also available and I am looking into that for myself and my man.

I would not go as far to say that I am only ever going to buy organic cotton or bamboo clothing (which is a fantastic alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my baby but I am absolutely going try to whenever I can.
