Organic Baby Clothing DUNDALK

Before I had my children, I never imagined I would belong to a mothers group. Be that as it may, now that I am a mum, talking to other parents about what is going on in my life has been a huge help. We chat about how we deal with our children, what to do and not to do, we share baby food recipes, and we love to talk about the latest baby outfits we have bought.

I usually meet with 2 other mothers, once a fortnight, to hear about the latest happenings. We usually meet at B & K Carry Out-Deli (which is in DUNDALK, MD) as that is fairly central for all of us. Last month was really interesting seeing we talked about organic baby clothes. I have been giving my baby boy organic produce from the start but it had never crossed my mind to purchasing organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most broadly grown crops in the world and one of the most devastating to the ecosystem and to farm workers. The run off from cotton farms has destroyed the environment and in particular water bodies. Organic produce is made without using artificial fertilisers and insecticides. Alternatively, organic farming relies on things like crop rotation, raising the quality of soils naturally, and using eco friendly pest control techniques.

Benefits of Choosing Organic Products

Purchasing organic produce means you are purchasing products which have been produced in an eco-friendly manner, or at the very least in a way which causes less contamination of the environment. No or less use of pesticides and fertilizers means less pollution of our soils and rivers, fewer health problems for farm workers, and fewer health risks for our babies and children by reducing their contact with toxic chemicals.

Many makers of baby clothes also make a range of organic clothes or you can find wholesalers solely devoted to organic baby clothing. Either way, there are a lot of marks to choose from and all ages are provided for, from infants to adolescents. Obviously, organic clothes for men and women is also available and I am looking into that for myself and my husband.

I would not go as far to say that I am just going to get organic cotton or bamboo clothing (which is a fantastic alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my baby but I am without a doubt going try to whenever it is available.
