Organic Baby Clothing DULUTH
Filed Under (Organic Baby Clothes) by Kaye on 20-05-2008
Long before I had my first child, I had not thought I would join a mothers group. Be that as it may, now that I am a new mother, chatting to other women about what is taking place in my life has benefited me immensely. We talk about how we bring up our children, what to do and not to do, we share baby food recipes, and we like to discuss the newest baby clothes we have bought.
I generally go out with 3 other parents, once a month, to catch up on the latest gossip. We often meet at La's Family Restaurant (which is in DULUTH, MN) as that is quite central for all of us. Last week was particularly exciting because we talked about organic baby clothes. I have been providing my baby organic food from the beginning but I had never thought about buying organic clothing for her.
Cotton is one of the most widely grown products in America and one of the most harmful to the ecosystem and to farm workers. The run off from these farms has ruined the environment and particularly water ways. Organic produce is made without using artificial fertilisers and pesticides. Alternatively, organic farming relies on things like crop rotation, raising the quality of soils naturally, and using organic insect control techniques.
Benefits of Choosing Organic Products
Purchasing organic products means you are buying produce which have been produced in an eco friendly manner, or at a minimum in a way which causes less damage to soils and waterways. No or reduced use of pesticides and fertilisers means less pollution of our land and rivers, fewer cancers for farm employees, and fewer health risks for our children by reducing their contact with dangerous chemicals.
Quite a few producers of baby clothes also produce a range of organic items or you can find wholesalers completely committed to organic baby fashion. Either way, there are a lot of marks to choose from and all ages are provided for, from infants to older children. Naturally, organic clothes for men and women is also accessible and I am looking into that for myself and my husband.
I do not think that I am just going to buy organic cotton or bamboo cotton clothing (which is a great alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my child but I am most definitely going try to whenever I can.
