Organic Baby Clothing DETROIT

Long before I had my baby, I never imagined I would belong to a mothers group. Be that as it may, now that I have become a new mother, chatting to other parents about what is taking place in my life has really helped me. We chat about how we bring up our children, what to do and not to do, we share recipes, and we enjoy being able to discuss the latest baby fashions we have bought.

I more often than not go out with 3 other mothers, once a month, to catch up on the latest happenings. We usually meet at Fishnook (which is in DETROIT, MI) as that is quite central for all of us. Last week was particularly interesting seeing we discussed organic baby clothes. I have been giving my baby girl organic produce from day one but I had never thought about buying organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most broadly grown plants in America and one of the most harmful to the habitat and to farm workers. The run off from cotton farms has destroyed ecosystems and particularly water ways. Organic produce is grown without using artificial fertilisers and pesticides. Rather, organic farming relies on things like crop rotation, raising the quality of soils naturally, and using organic insect control methods.

Benefits of Organic Baby Clothing

Getting organic clothing means you are purchasing produce which have been produced in an eco friendly manner, or at the very least in a way which causes less contamination of the environment. No or a reduction in the use of insecticides and fertilisers means less pollution of our land and lakes, fewer health problems for farm employees, and fewer health risks for our children by lessening their contact with dangerous chemicals.

Several makers of baby clothes also sell a range of organic clothes or you can find companies solely committed to organic baby clothing. Anyway, there are a lot of brands to choose from and all ages are catered for, from babies to teenagers. Obviously, organic clothing for men and women is also available and I am looking into that for myself and my partner.

I would not go as far to say that I am just going to purchase organic cotton or bamboo cotton clothing (which is a good alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my child but I am most definitely going try to whenever it is available.
