Organic Baby Clothing DENVER

Long before I had my first child, I never really thought I would be part of a mothers group. Be that as it may, now that I am a mum, being able to talk to other mothers about what is taking place in my life has really helped me. We chat about how we bring up our children, what to do and not to do, we share baby food recipes, and we love to chat about the most recent baby outfits we have picked up.

I more often than not get together with 2 other mothers, once a month, to catch up on the latest happenings. We usually meet at Matisse' Cafe (which is in DENVER, CO) as that is pretty central for all of us. Last month was more exciting as we chatted about organic baby clothing. I have been feeding my baby boy organic produce from day one but it had never crossed my mind to purchasing organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most broadly grown crops in America and one of the most devastating to the environment and to farm workers. The run off from these farms has destroyed ecosystems and especially water ways. Organic cotton is made without using artificial fertilisers and chemicals. Alternatively, organic farming relies on things like crop rotation, enhancing soils naturally, and using organic pest control methods.

Benefits of Organic Clothing

Buying organic clothing means you are getting produce which have been produced in an eco-friendly manner, or at a minimum in a way which causes less damage to soils and waterways. No or less use of pesticides and synthetic fertilisers means less pollution of our soils and rivers, less health problems for farmers, and fewer health risks for children by reducing their contact with dangerous chemicals.

Many makers of baby clothes also produce a range of organic clothes or you can find shops solely dedicated to organic baby fashion. Thankfully, there are a lot of brands to choose from and all ages are catered for, from babies to adolescents. Obviously, organic clothes for men and women is also obtainable and I am looking into that for myself and my husband.

I am not saying that I am only going to purchase organic cotton or bamboo clothes (which is a good alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my child but I am without a doubt going try to whenever I can.
