Back before I had my first child, I never really thought I would be part of a mothers group. However, now that I am finally a new mother, being able to talk to other women about what is taking place in my life has benefited me immensely. No or a reduction in the use of insecticides and synthetic fertilisers means less pollution of our soils and waterways, fewer cancers for farm employees, and fewer health risks for our babies and children by reducing their contact with dangerous chemicals.

I would not go as far to say that I am only going to get organic cotton or bamboo clothing (which is an excellent alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my child but I am most definitely going try to whenever I can.
