Back before I had my baby, I had not imagined I would be part of a mothers group. Anyhow, now that I am a new mother, chatting to other mothers about what is going on in my life has really helped me. We chat about how we bring up our children, what to do and not to do, we share meal plans, and we enjoy being able to discuss the newest baby clothes we have bought.
I more often than not go out with 2 other women, once a week, to find out the latest gossip. We generally meet at Subway of Columbia (which is in COLUMBIA, KY) as that is quite central for all of us. Last month was really exciting because we discussed baby clothes. I have been providing my baby girl organic meals from the beginning but I had never thought about buying organic clothing for her.
Cotton is one of the most widely grown products in the US and one of the most ruinous to the ecosystem and to farm workers. The run off from cotton farms has damaged habitats and in particular water bodies. Organic cotton is grown without the need for artificial fertilisers and chemicals. Rather, organic farming relies on things like crop rotation, raising the quality of soils naturally, and using organic insect control practices.

Benefits of Choosing Organic Products
Buying organic products means you are getting produce which have been produced in an eco friendly manner, or at the very least in a way which causes less contamination of our habitat. No or a reduction in the use of herbicides and fertilisers means less pollution of our land and rivers, fewer cancers for farm workers, and fewer health risks for our children by moderating their contact with potentially dangerous chemicals.
A number of retailers of baby clothes also sell a range of organic items or you can find retailers entirely committed to organic baby clothing. Anyway, there are a lot of designs to choose from and all ages are provided for, from babies to older children. Naturally, organic clothing for men and women is also available and I am looking into that for myself and my partner.
I do not think that I am only ever going to buy organic cotton or bamboo clothing (which is an amazing alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my child but I am without a doubt going try to whenever I can.
