Organic Baby Clothing CANNON FALLS

Filed Under (Organic Baby Clothes) by Kaye on 31-07-2010

Long before I had my first child, I never imagined I would belong to a mothers group. However, now that I have become a mum, being able to talk to other parents about what is taking place in my life has really helped me. We chat about how we raise our children, what to do and not to do, we share meal plans, and we like to discuss the latest baby clothes we have purchased.

I generally get together with 2 other parents, once a fortnight, to catch up on the latest new. We usually meet at Super Valu (which is in CANNON FALLS, MN) as that is pretty central for all of us. Last month was particularly eye opening because we talked about organic baby clothing. I have been giving my baby girl organic produce from the start but it had never crossed my mind to buying organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most widely grown crops in the US and one of the most devastating to the habitat and to farm workers. The run off from these farms has damaged ecosystems and particularly water ways. Organic produce is grown without using artificial fertilisers and pesticides. Instead, organic farming relies on things like crop rotation, enhancing soils naturally, and using organic insect control practices.

You can get soft organic cotton baby outfits online from a number of stores. Sckoon has some of the cutest organic baby clothes.

Benefits of Organic Clothing

Getting organic clothes means you are purchasing products which have been produced in an eco friendly manner, or at the very least in a way which causes less pollution of our habitat. No or less use of pesticides and fertilisers means less pollution of our soils and lakes, less health problems for farm employees, and fewer health risks for children by reducing their contact with potentially dangerous chemicals.

Quite a few producers of baby clothes also produce a range of organic clothing or you can find stores entirely dedicated to organic baby clothing. Anyway, there are a lot of brands to choose from and all ages are taken care of, from infants to older children. Obviously, organic clothing for men and women is also available and I am looking into that for myself and my man.

I do not think that I am only ever going to buy organic cotton or bamboo clothing (which is a fantastic alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my child but I am absolutely going try to whenever it is available.
