Organic Baby Clothing CALEDONIA

Back before I had my children, I never believed I would belong to a mothers group. Be that as it may, now that I am a mother, chatting to other mothers about what is happening in my life has benefited me immensely. We talk about how we raise our children, what to do and not to do, we share recipes, and we like to talk about the newest baby fashions we have bought.

I more often than not meet with 2 other women, once a fortnight, to hear about the latest happenings. We often meet at Betty's Little Kitchen (which is in CALEDONIA, MO) as that is pretty central for all of us. Last week was really eye opening as we talked about organic baby clothes. I have been feeding my baby girl organic produce from day one but I had never thought about getting organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most widely grown plants in the US and one of the most harmful to the ecosystem and to farm employees. The run off from non-organic cotton farms has damaged the environment and in particular water ways. Organic products are made without the need for artificial fertilisers and insecticides. Instead, organic farming depends upon things like crop rotation, raising the quality of soils naturally, and using organic pest control methods.

Benefits of Organic Baby Clothing

Getting organic clothes means you are getting produce which have been produced in an environmentally friendly manner, or at the very least in a way which causes less damage to the environment. No or a reduction in the use of pesticides and fertilisers means less pollution of our land and waterways, fewer diseases for farmers, and fewer health risks for our babies and children by reducing their contact with potentially dangerous chemicals.

Several producers of baby clothes also produce a range of organic clothes or you can find companies entirely committed to organic baby clothing. Anyway, there are a lot of designs to choose from and all ages are taken care of, from babies to older children. Obviously, organic clothing for men and women is also accessible and I am looking into that for myself and my husband.

I would not go as far to say that I am only ever going to get organic cotton or bamboo clothing (which is an amazing alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my baby but I am most definitely going try to whenever possible.
