Organic Baby Clothing BROOKSVILLE

Long before I had my first child, I had not thought I would belong to a mothers group. Anyhow, now that I have become a mum, being able to talk to other parents about what is happening in my life has been a huge help. We chat about how we deal with our children, what to do and not to do, we share meal plans, and we enjoy being able to chat about the most recent baby clothes we have purchased.

I more often than not meet with 4 other women, once a fortnight, to hear about the latest new. We usually meet at Vito's Mulberry Street (which is in BROOKSVILLE, FL) as that is quite central for all of us. Last month was more exciting because we talked about organic baby clothing. I have been feeding my baby girl organic food from the beginning but I had not considered purchasing organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most widely grown products in the US and one of the most ruinous to the ecosystem and to farm workers. The run off from non-organic cotton farms has ruined ecosystems and in particular water bodies. Organic cotton is produced without the need for artificial fertilisers and chemicals. Alternatively, organic farming relies on things like crop rotation, enhancing soils naturally, and using organic pest control techniques.

Benefits of Organic Baby Clothing

Purchasing organic produce means you are getting produce which have been produced in an environmentally friendly manner, or at the very least in a way which causes less contamination of soils and waterways. No or reduced use of insecticides and fertilisers means less pollution of our land and lakes, fewer diseases for farm workers, and fewer health risks for our children by reducing their contact with dangerous chemicals.

Several producers of baby clothes also produce a range of organic clothes or you can find shops entirely committed to organic baby fashion. Thankfully, there are a lot of marks to choose from and all ages are provided for, from toddlers to adolescents. Naturally, organic fashion for men and women is also available and I am looking into that for myself and my partner.

I am not saying that I am only ever going to buy organic cotton or bamboo clothes (which is a good alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my baby but I am most definitely going try to whenever possible.
