Organic Baby Clothing BROADVIEW

Long before I had my first child, I never imagined I would be part of a mothers group. Anyhow, now that I am finally a new mother, being able to talk to other women about what is happening in my life has benefited me immensely. We talk about how we deal with our children, what to do and not to do, we share meal plans, and we like to chat about the latest baby outfits we have purchased.

I usually get together with 2 other parents, once a month, to find out the latest happenings. We often meet at Mr Roberts Pizzeria (which is in BROADVIEW, IL) as that is pretty central for all of us. Last week was more interesting as we chatted about baby clothes. I have been giving my baby boy organic produce from day one but I had not considered getting organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most popular plants in America and one of the most harmful to the ecosystem and to farmers. The run off from these farms has damaged ecosystems and especially water ways. Organic produce is made without the use of artificial fertilisers and pesticides. Alternatively, organic farming depends on things like crop rotation, improving soils naturally, and using organic pest control practices.

You can get soft organic cotton baby clothes online from a number of stores. Sckoon has some gorgeous organic baby apparel.

Benefits of Organic Clothing

Purchasing organic clothes means you are buying clothes which have been produced in an eco-friendly manner, or at a minimum in a way which causes less damage to the environment. No or a reduction in the use of herbicides and fertilisers means less pollution of our soils and lakes, reduced diseases for farm workers, and fewer health risks for our children by lessening their contact with potentially dangerous chemicals.

Many wholesalers of baby clothes also produce a range of organic clothing or you can find stores completely dedicated to organic baby fashion. Anyway, there are a lot of designs to choose from and all ages are catered for, from toddlers to teenagers. Of course, organic fashion for men and women is also obtainable and I am looking into that for myself and my husband.

I would not go as far to say that I am only going to buy organic cotton or bamboo clothes (which is a good alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my baby but I am definitely going try to whenever it is available.
