Organic Baby Clothing BRICK

Back before I had my baby, I never thought I would belong to a mothers group. Be that as it may, now that I am a mum, being able to talk to other women about what is going on in my life has been a huge help. We discuss how we deal with our children, what to do and not to do, we share meal plans, and we love to talk about the most recent baby outfits we have picked up.

I usually get together with 2 other mothers, once a week, to find out the latest new. We usually meet at Corner Post Diner & Restaurant (which is in BRICK, NJ) as that is quite central for all of us. Last week was more exciting seeing we talked about organic baby clothes. I have been giving my baby organic produce from the beginning but I had never thought about purchasing organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most popular plants in the US and one of the most harmful to the ecosystem and to farm workers. The run off from non-organic cotton farms has destroyed the environment and particularly water ways. Organic produce is made without the need for artificial fertilisers and insecticides. Instead, organic farming relies on things like crop rotation, enhancing soils naturally, and using organic insect control practices.

Benefits of Choosing Organic Products

Purchasing organic produce means you are purchasing products which have been produced in an environmentally friendly manner, or at the very least in a way which causes less pollution of our habitat. No or a reduction in the use of herbicides and fertilisers means less pollution of our farms and rivers, fewer health problems for farmers, and fewer health risks for children by moderating their contact with toxic chemicals.

Many retailers of baby clothes also produce a range of organic items or you can find shops entirely committed to organic baby clothes. Either way, there are a lot of brands to choose from and all ages are taken care of, from toddlers to teenagers. Obviously, organic clothes for men and women is also available and I am looking into that for myself and my husband.

I would not go as far to say that I am only ever going to get organic cotton or bamboo cotton clothing (which is an excellent alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my baby but I am definitely going try to whenever possible.
