Organic Baby Clothing BELLINGHAM

Filed Under (Organic Baby Clothes) by Kaye on 24-09-2009

Long before I had my first child, I never really imagined I would join a mothers group. Be that as it may, now that I am finally a mum, talking to other parents about what is happening in my life has really helped me. We talk about how we raise our children, what to do and not to do, we share meal plans, and we like to talk about the latest baby fashions we have purchased.

I usually get together with 4 other mothers, once a week, to catch up on the latest gossip. We usually meet at Tea for All Seasons (which is in BELLINGHAM, WA) as that is pretty central for all of us. Last time was really eye opening as we discussed organic baby clothing. I have been feeding my baby boy organic food from the beginning but I had not considered getting organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most broadly grown plants in America and one of the most ruinous to the ecosystem and to farm employees. The run off from non-organic cotton farms has damaged habitats and especially water bodies. Organic products are grown without the use of artificial fertilisers and pesticides. Rather, organic farming depends upon things like crop rotation, improving soils naturally, and using organic pest control practices.

You can purchase beautiful organic baby clothes online from a number of retailers. Sckoon is my favourite for organic baby apparel.

Benefits of Choosing Organic Products

Purchasing organic produce means you are buying clothes which have been produced in an eco-friendly manner, or at the very least in a way which causes less contamination of soils and waterways. No or a reduction in the use of insecticides and fertilizers means less pollution of our land and lakes, fewer diseases for farm workers, and fewer health risks for our children by lessening their contact with dangerous chemicals.

A number of makers of baby clothes also make a range of organic clothing or you can find designers completely devoted to organic baby clothes. Either way, there are a lot of brands to choose from and all ages are taken care of, from babies to adolescents. Of course, organic fashion for men and women is also available and I am looking into that for myself and my husband.

I would not go as far to say that I am only ever going to buy organic cotton or bamboo cotton clothing (which is a great alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my baby but I am most definitely going try to whenever possible.
