Organic Baby Clothing ATLANTA

Filed Under (Organic Baby Clothes) by Kaye on 12-09-2008

Long before I had my baby, I never thought I would be part of a mothers group. However, now that I am finally a new mother, talking to other mothers about what is taking place in my life has benefited me immensely. We discuss how we bring up our children, what to do and not to do, we share meal plans, and we love to discuss the newest baby outfits we have picked up.

I usually get together with 4 other parents, once a fortnight, to catch up on the latest new. We generally meet at Sbarro's Italian Eatery (which is in ATLANTA, GA) as that is pretty central for all of us. Last week was more exciting seeing we chatted about organic baby clothing. I have been providing my baby organic meals from day one but I had never thought about getting organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most broadly grown plants in the US and one of the most ruinous to the ecosystem and to farm workers. The run off from these farms has damaged ecosystems and particularly water supplies. Organic products are made without the use of artificial fertilisers and chemicals. Alternatively, organic farming depends on things like crop rotation, improving soils naturally, and using organic pest control methods.

You can get beautiful organic baby clothing online from a number of shops. Sckoon is my favourite for organic baby apparel.

Benefits of Organic Clothing

Getting organic clothes means you are purchasing produce which have been produced in an eco-friendly manner, or at least in a way which causes less contamination of the environment. No or less use of herbicides and fertilisers means less pollution of our farms and lakes, less cancers for farmers, and fewer health risks for our babies and children by moderating their contact with toxic chemicals.

Several makers of baby clothes also make a range of organic items or you can find shops completely committed to organic baby clothes. Either way, there are a lot of designs to choose from and all ages are taken care of, from toddlers to adolescents. Of course, organic clothes for men and women is also accessible and I am looking into that for myself and my partner.

I do not think that I am just going to buy organic cotton or bamboo clothing (which is an excellent alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my child but I am absolutely going try to whenever possible.
