Organic Baby Clothes WOODSIDE

Filed Under (Organic Baby Clothes) by Kaye on 28-01-2010

Before I had my baby, I never really believed I would belong to a mothers group. Anyhow, now that I am finally a mother, chatting to other parents about what is going on in my life has really helped me. We chat about how we deal with our children, what to do and not to do, we share baby food recipes, and we enjoy being able to chat about the newest baby clothes we have purchased.

I usually go out with 3 other mothers, once a week, to hear about the latest happenings. We often meet at Arirang Restaurant (which is in WOODSIDE, NY) as that is pretty central for all of us. Last time was more eye opening because we discussed organic baby clothes. I have been feeding my baby boy organic meals from day one but it had never crossed my mind to purchasing organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most popular crops in the US and one of the most harmful to the habitat and to farm workers. The run off from these farms has ruined habitats and in particular water bodies. Organic produce is produced without the use of artificial fertilisers and chemicals. Rather, organic farming depends on things like crop rotation, raising the quality of soils naturally, and using eco friendly pest control methods.

You can get soft organic cotton baby clothes online from a number of stores. Sckoon is my favourite for organic baby apparel.

Benefits of Choosing Organic Products

Getting organic clothes means you are purchasing produce which have been produced in an eco friendly manner, or at least in a way which causes less damage to our habitat. No or reduced use of insecticides and fertilisers means less pollution of our soils and waterways, less cancers for farm employees, and fewer health risks for our children by moderating their contact with dangerous chemicals.

Several retailers of baby clothes also sell a range of organic clothing or you can find stores solely dedicated to organic baby clothes. Thankfully, there are a lot of marks to choose from and all ages are catered for, from babies to older children. Naturally, organic clothes for men and women is also available and I am looking into that for myself and my husband.

I am not saying that I am just going to buy organic cotton or bamboo cotton clothing (which is an amazing alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my baby but I am definitely going try to whenever I can.
