Organic Baby Clothes WEXFORD

Back before I had my baby, I never really imagined I would be part of a mothers group. However, now that I am finally a mum, talking to other mothers about what is taking place in my life has been a huge help. We chat about how we raise our children, what to do and not to do, we share meal plans, and we like to discuss the newest baby fashions we have bought.

I usually get together with 2 other women, once a week, to hear about the latest new. We often meet at Ginnys Old Fashioned Ice Cream (which is in WEXFORD, PA) as that is pretty central for all of us. Last month was particularly eye opening because we talked about baby clothes. I have been providing my baby boy organic produce from day one but I had not considered buying organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most popular products in the world and one of the most devastating to the environment and to farmers. The run off from non-organic cotton farms has ruined ecosystems and particularly water bodies. Organic cotton is made without the need for artificial fertilisers and pesticides. Alternatively, organic farming relies on things like crop rotation, improving soils naturally, and using organic pest control methods.

Benefits of Organic Clothing

Getting organic produce means you are getting produce which have been produced in an eco friendly manner, or at the very least in a way which causes less pollution of the environment. No or a reduction in the use of pesticides and synthetic fertilisers means less pollution of our farms and rivers, reduced cancers for farm workers, and fewer health risks for our babies and children by moderating their contact with toxic chemicals.

Many retailers of baby clothes also sell a range of organic clothing or you can find designers completely devoted to organic baby clothing. Anyway, there are a lot of marks to choose from and all ages are catered for, from babies to adolescents. Naturally, organic clothes for men and women is also available and I am looking into that for myself and my partner.

I am not saying that I am only ever going to get organic cotton or bamboo clothes (which is a fantastic alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my children but I am most definitely going try to whenever it is available.
