Organic Baby Clothes WESTPORT

Back before I had my children, I had not believed I would belong to a mothers group. Anyhow, now that I am finally a mother, chatting to other mothers about what is happening in my life has really helped me. We discuss how we raise our children, what to do and not to do, we share recipes, and we like to chat about the most recent baby outfits we have picked up.
I more often than not meet with 4 other mothers, once a fortnight, to catch up on the latest new. We generally meet at Hot Dog Stand (which is in WESTPORT, CT) as that is fairly central for all of us. Last month was particularly eye opening because we chatted about baby clothes. I have been giving my baby boy organic produce from day one but I had not considered buying organic clothing for her.
Cotton is one of the most broadly grown crops in the US and one of the most devastating to the ecosystem and to farmers. The run off from these farms has ruined ecosystems and in particular water supplies. Organic produce is made without using artificial fertilisers and chemicals. Instead, organic farming depends upon things like crop rotation, improving soils naturally, and using organic pest control practices.
You can buy beautiful organic baby apparel online from a number of retailers. Sckoon is my favourite for organic baby clothes.

Benefits of Organic Clothing
Buying organic clothing means you are purchasing produce which have been produced in an environmentally friendly manner, or at least in a way which causes less damage to our habitat. No or reduced use of herbicides and fertilisers means less pollution of our farms and waterways, fewer cancers for farm workers, and fewer health risks for our babies and children by reducing their contact with toxic chemicals.
A number of makers of baby clothes also produce a range of organic clothes or you can find stores completely dedicated to organic baby clothes. Either way, there are a lot of designs to choose from and all ages are provided for, from toddlers to older children. Obviously, organic fashion for men and women is also available and I am looking into that for myself and my partner.
I am not saying that I am only ever going to get organic cotton or bamboo cotton clothing (which is a fantastic alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my baby but I am most definitely going try to whenever it is available.
