Organic Baby Clothes WEST ENFIELD

Filed Under (Organic Baby Clothes) by Kaye on 12-08-2008

Back before I had my children, I never imagined I would join a mothers group. Anyhow, now that I have become a mother, talking to other women about what is going on in my life has benefited me immensely. We discuss how we raise our children, what to do and not to do, we share baby food recipes, and we enjoy being able to discuss the newest baby fashions we have purchased.

I usually get together with 4 other women, once a fortnight, to catch up on the latest new. We often meet at Big Dan's Sports Bar (which is in WEST ENFIELD, ME) as that is quite central for all of us. Last week was more interesting as we discussed baby clothes. I have been feeding my baby girl organic produce from the start but I had never thought about getting organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most widely grown plants in the US and one of the most devastating to the environment and to farmers. The run off from non-organic cotton farms has destroyed the environment and particularly water supplies. Organic products are produced without the need for artificial fertilisers and insecticides. Instead, organic farming relies on things like crop rotation, enhancing soils naturally, and using organic pest control practices.

You can purchase organic cotton baby outfits online from a number of stores. Sckoon has some of the cutest organic baby apparel.

Benefits of Choosing Organic Products

Purchasing organic produce means you are buying produce which have been produced in an environmentally friendly manner, or at least in a way which causes less contamination of the environment. No or a reduction in the use of herbicides and synthetic fertilisers means less pollution of our farms and lakes, less health problems for farm workers, and fewer health risks for our children by reducing their contact with dangerous chemicals.

Quite a few producers of baby clothes also produce a range of organic clothing or you can find wholesalers entirely dedicated to organic baby clothes. Thankfully, there are a lot of marks to choose from and all ages are catered for, from infants to older children. Obviously, organic clothing for men and women is also available and I am looking into that for myself and my partner.

I am not saying that I am only ever going to get organic cotton or bamboo clothes (which is an excellent alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my child but I am absolutely going try to whenever possible.
