Organic Baby Clothes WASHINGTON

Back before I had my children, I never really thought I would belong to a mothers group. Be that as it may, now that I am finally a new mother, talking to other parents about what is happening in my life has benefited me immensely. We chat about how we deal with our children, what to do and not to do, we share recipes, and we like to discuss the latest baby outfits we have bought.

I generally meet with 2 other women, once a month, to catch up on the latest gossip. We often meet at El Oriente Carryout (which is in WASHINGTON, DC) as that is pretty central for all of us. Last week was really eye opening because we chatted about organic baby clothes. I have been providing my baby organic produce from day one but I had not considered getting organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most broadly grown products in America and one of the most ruinous to the environment and to farm workers. The run off from these farms has destroyed ecosystems and in particular water supplies. Organic cotton is produced without using artificial fertilisers and chemicals. Alternatively, organic farming depends on things like crop rotation, improving soils naturally, and using organic pest control methods.

You can purchase soft organic cotton baby clothes online from a number of shops. Sckoon has some of the cutest organic baby apparel.

Benefits of Organic Clothing

Purchasing organic clothing means you are purchasing clothes which have been produced in an eco friendly manner, or at least in a way which causes less contamination of soils and waterways. No or less use of pesticides and fertilisers means less pollution of our land and waterways, fewer cancers for farm workers, and fewer health risks for children by reducing their contact with potentially dangerous chemicals.

Quite a few producers of baby clothes also make a range of organic clothing or you can find wholesalers entirely committed to organic baby fashion. Either way, there are a lot of marks to choose from and all ages are taken care of, from infants to older children. Of course, organic fashion for men and women is also obtainable and I am looking into that for myself and my man.

I am not saying that I am only ever going to buy organic cotton or bamboo cotton clothing (which is a fantastic alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my baby but I am definitely going try to whenever it is available.
