Organic Baby Clothes VARNVILLE

Filed Under (Organic Baby Clothes) by Kaye on 21-04-2009

Before I had my baby, I never really thought I would belong to a mothers group. However, now that I have become a new mother, chatting to other women about what is going on in my life has been a huge help. We chat about how we bring up our children, what to do and not to do, we share baby food recipes, and we like to talk about the newest baby clothes we have bought.

I usually meet with 4 other women, once a week, to hear about the latest happenings. We usually meet at Big Dipper Ice Cream & Sub Shop (which is in VARNVILLE, SC) as that is fairly central for all of us. Last month was more exciting seeing we talked about organic baby clothing. I have been feeding my baby girl organic food from day one but it had never crossed my mind to getting organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most broadly grown plants in the world and one of the most devastating to the ecosystem and to farmers. The run off from non-organic cotton farms has ruined ecosystems and particularly water ways. Organic cotton is made without using artificial fertilisers and insecticides. Rather, organic farming depends upon things like crop rotation, raising the quality of soils naturally, and using eco friendly pest control practices.

You can buy organic cotton baby clothes online from a number of shops. Sckoon is my favourite for organic baby clothing.

Benefits of Organic Baby Clothing

Buying organic clothing means you are purchasing produce which have been produced in an eco friendly manner, or at a minimum in a way which causes less contamination of soils and waterways. No or reduced use of herbicides and fertilizers means less pollution of our land and rivers, less cancers for farmers, and fewer health risks for our babies and children by moderating their contact with potentially dangerous chemicals.

Quite a few retailers of baby clothes also make a range of organic clothing or you can find wholesalers solely devoted to organic baby clothing. Either way, there are a lot of marks to choose from and all ages are provided for, from babies to older children. Naturally, organic clothes for men and women is also obtainable and I am looking into that for myself and my man.

I am not saying that I am only ever going to purchase organic cotton or bamboo clothing (which is an excellent alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my baby but I am without a doubt going try to whenever it is available.
