Long before I had my children, I never imagined I would join a mothers group. Anyhow, now that I am finally a mum, chatting to other parents about what is taking place in my life has been a huge help. Buying organic clothes means you are buying produce which have been produced in an environmentally friendly manner, or at least in a way which causes less contamination of soils and waterways. No or a reduction in the use of herbicides and synthetic fertilisers means less pollution of our farms and lakes, less diseases for farm employees, and fewer health risks for our babies and children by reducing their contact with potentially dangerous chemicals.
