Organic Baby Clothes SNOWFLAKE

Filed Under (Organic Baby Clothes) by Kaye on 28-10-2008

Long before I had my baby, I never believed I would belong to a mothers group. Be that as it may, now that I have become a mum, being able to talk to other mothers about what is taking place in my life has been a huge help. We talk about how we deal with our children, what to do and not to do, we share recipes, and we love to discuss the newest baby fashions we have purchased.

I usually meet with 4 other parents, once a month, to hear about the latest happenings. We generally meet at Donut Hut Cafe (which is in SNOWFLAKE, AZ) as that is fairly central for all of us. Last month was more eye opening because we chatted about baby clothes. I have been feeding my baby boy organic food from day one but it had never crossed my mind to purchasing organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most widely grown products in the world and one of the most devastating to the ecosystem and to farmers. The run off from these farms has damaged ecosystems and in particular water bodies. Organic produce is produced without the need for artificial fertilisers and insecticides. Rather, organic farming relies on things like crop rotation, raising the quality of soils naturally, and using eco friendly pest control methods.

You can buy beautiful organic baby clothes online from a number of retailers. Sckoon is my favourite for organic baby apparel.

Benefits of Organic Clothing

Purchasing organic clothing means you are buying produce which have been produced in an eco friendly manner, or at a minimum in a way which causes less pollution of soils and waterways. No or reduced use of herbicides and fertilisers means less pollution of our land and lakes, reduced diseases for farm employees, and fewer health risks for our babies and children by reducing their contact with dangerous chemicals.

Quite a few producers of baby clothes also make a range of organic items or you can find companies entirely devoted to organic baby clothing. Anyway, there are a lot of marks to choose from and all ages are catered for, from infants to teenagers. Obviously, organic clothing for men and women is also accessible and I am looking into that for myself and my husband.

I would not go as far to say that I am just going to get organic cotton or bamboo cotton clothing (which is an amazing alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my children but I am without a doubt going try to whenever it is available.
