Organic Baby Clothes SEASIDE HEIGHTS

Back before I had my first child, I never really believed I would belong to a mothers group. However, now that I am a mum, talking to other women about what is going on in my life has really helped me. We discuss how we deal with our children, what to do and not to do, we share baby food recipes, and we enjoy being able to discuss the most recent baby outfits we have picked up.

I generally meet with 3 other women, once a fortnight, to catch up on the latest new. We generally meet at Memories (which is in SEASIDE HEIGHTS, NJ) as that is fairly central for all of us. Last month was really eye opening seeing we discussed baby clothes. I have been giving my baby organic food from day one but it had never crossed my mind to getting organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most widely grown plants in the US and one of the most ruinous to the habitat and to farm employees. The run off from non-organic cotton farms has destroyed habitats and particularly water supplies. Organic produce is made without the use of artificial fertilisers and pesticides. Alternatively, organic farming depends on things like crop rotation, raising the quality of soils naturally, and using organic pest control methods.

You can get organic cotton baby outfits online from a number of shops. Sckoon is my favourite for organic baby clothes.

Benefits of Organic Baby Clothing

Getting organic clothes means you are getting produce which have been produced in an eco friendly manner, or at a minimum in a way which causes less damage to soils and waterways. No or a reduction in the use of pesticides and fertilisers means less pollution of our farms and rivers, less health problems for farmers, and fewer health risks for our children by reducing their contact with toxic chemicals.

A number of wholesalers of baby clothes also sell a range of organic items or you can find shops completely committed to organic baby clothing. Thankfully, there are a lot of brands to choose from and all ages are catered for, from babies to older children. Naturally, organic clothing for men and women is also accessible and I am looking into that for myself and my husband.

I am not saying that I am just going to buy organic cotton or bamboo cotton clothing (which is an amazing alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my baby but I am without a doubt going try to whenever it is available.
