Before I had my first child, I never really imagined I would belong to a mothers group. However, now that I have become a mum, talking to other parents about what is going on in my life has been a huge help. We talk about how we bring up our children, what to do and not to do, we share meal plans, and we enjoy being able to discuss the newest baby outfits we have picked up.
I more often than not go out with 3 other mothers, once a week, to hear about the latest new. We generally meet at Pride of Italy (which is in SAN JACINTO, CA) as that is quite central for all of us. Last week was more exciting because we discussed baby clothes. I have been providing my baby organic meals from day one but it had never crossed my mind to purchasing organic clothing for her.
Cotton is one of the most popular crops in the US and one of the most ruinous to the environment and to farmers. The run off from these farms has ruined habitats and particularly water supplies. Organic produce is produced without the need for artificial fertilisers and pesticides. Instead, organic farming relies on things like crop rotation, enhancing soils naturally, and using eco friendly pest control methods.

Benefits of Choosing Organic Products
Getting organic products means you are buying products which have been produced in an environmentally friendly manner, or at a minimum in a way which causes less pollution of soils and waterways. No or less use of pesticides and synthetic fertilisers means less pollution of our soils and rivers, reduced cancers for farm workers, and fewer health risks for our children by reducing their contact with dangerous chemicals.
Many wholesalers of baby clothes also make a range of organic clothes or you can find designers solely dedicated to organic baby clothing. Thankfully, there are a lot of brands to choose from and all ages are catered for, from babies to adolescents. Obviously, organic fashion for men and women is also available and I am looking into that for myself and my partner.
I would not go as far to say that I am just going to buy organic cotton or bamboo cotton clothing (which is a fantastic alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my children but I am absolutely going try to whenever I can.
