Organic Baby Clothes ROCKVILLE

Filed Under (Organic Baby Clothes) by Kaye on 01-02-2010

Back before I had my first child, I never really believed I would be part of a mothers group. However, now that I have become a new mother, talking to other parents about what is taking place in my life has been a huge help. We talk about how we bring up our children, what to do and not to do, we share baby food recipes, and we enjoy being able to discuss the most recent baby fashions we have bought.

I usually get together with 3 other women, once a month, to catch up on the latest gossip. We usually meet at Chicken Basket (which is in ROCKVILLE, MD) as that is quite central for all of us. Last month was really exciting as we discussed baby clothes. I have been providing my baby girl organic produce from the start but I had not considered getting organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most widely grown plants in America and one of the most ruinous to the habitat and to farm workers. The run off from non-organic cotton farms has ruined habitats and particularly water bodies. Organic products are produced without the use of artificial fertilisers and insecticides. Instead, organic farming relies on things like crop rotation, raising the quality of soils naturally, and using organic insect control practices.

You can get soft organic cotton baby outfits online from a number of shops. Sckoon has some of the cutest organic baby clothes.

Benefits of Organic Baby Clothing

Buying organic produce means you are purchasing clothes which have been produced in an environmentally friendly manner, or at a minimum in a way which causes less pollution of our habitat. No or reduced use of insecticides and fertilisers means less pollution of our soils and waterways, fewer health problems for farm workers, and fewer health risks for children by lessening their contact with toxic chemicals.

Many producers of baby clothes also make a range of organic items or you can find designers entirely committed to organic baby clothing. Either way, there are a lot of marks to choose from and all ages are provided for, from infants to older children. Obviously, organic clothing for men and women is also accessible and I am looking into that for myself and my husband.

I would not go as far to say that I am just going to purchase organic cotton or bamboo clothing (which is a fantastic alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my baby but I am definitely going try to whenever it is available.
