Organic Baby Clothes RICHMOND

Back before I had my children, I never really imagined I would be part of a mothers group. Anyhow, now that I have become a mum, talking to other parents about what is happening in my life has been a huge help. We discuss how we deal with our children, what to do and not to do, we share meal plans, and we enjoy being able to chat about the latest baby clothes we have picked up.

I usually go out with 4 other women, once a week, to hear about the latest happenings. We often meet at Tokyo Wok (which is in RICHMOND, VA) as that is quite central for all of us. Last month was really interesting seeing we discussed baby clothes. I have been providing my baby organic produce from day one but I had not considered getting organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most widely grown plants in the world and one of the most devastating to the habitat and to farm workers. The run off from these farms has destroyed ecosystems and in particular water ways. Organic products are produced without the use of artificial fertilisers and insecticides. Rather, organic farming depends on things like crop rotation, enhancing soils naturally, and using eco friendly pest control techniques.

Benefits of Choosing Organic Products

Getting organic produce means you are buying produce which have been produced in an eco-friendly manner, or at least in a way which causes less damage to our habitat. No or a reduction in the use of herbicides and fertilisers means less pollution of our soils and lakes, less diseases for farm workers, and fewer health risks for children by reducing their contact with dangerous chemicals.

Several makers of baby clothes also produce a range of organic clothing or you can find companies completely committed to organic baby clothing. Either way, there are a lot of marks to choose from and all ages are provided for, from babies to older children. Naturally, organic fashion for men and women is also available and I am looking into that for myself and my husband.

I would not go as far to say that I am only ever going to purchase organic cotton or bamboo clothing (which is a great alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my children but I am most definitely going try to whenever it is available.
