Organic Baby Clothes PORTLAND

Back before I had my baby, I had not thought I would belong to a mothers group. However, now that I have become a mum, chatting to other women about what is taking place in my life has benefited me immensely. We chat about how we deal with our children, what to do and not to do, we share baby food recipes, and we enjoy being able to discuss the most recent baby fashions we have picked up.

I more often than not go out with 4 other women, once a week, to find out the latest happenings. We often meet at Winterborne Restaurant (which is in PORTLAND, OR) as that is quite central for all of us. Last month was particularly exciting as we chatted about organic baby clothing. I have been feeding my baby organic food from the start but it had never crossed my mind to buying organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most widely grown products in the world and one of the most harmful to the ecosystem and to farm workers. The run off from non-organic cotton farms has ruined habitats and especially water ways. Organic produce is grown without the need for artificial fertilisers and chemicals. Rather, organic farming relies on things like crop rotation, improving soils naturally, and using eco friendly pest control practices.

You can get beautiful organic baby apparel online from a number of shops. Sckoon is my favourite for organic baby apparel.

Benefits of Choosing Organic Products

Purchasing organic clothes means you are getting products which have been produced in an eco-friendly manner, or at least in a way which causes less pollution of the environment. No or less use of pesticides and fertilizers means less pollution of our farms and lakes, less diseases for farmers, and fewer health risks for our children by reducing their contact with dangerous chemicals.

Quite a few producers of baby clothes also produce a range of organic clothes or you can find retailers completely committed to organic baby clothing. Thankfully, there are a lot of brands to choose from and all ages are catered for, from babies to older children. Naturally, organic clothes for men and women is also obtainable and I am looking into that for myself and my partner.

I would not go as far to say that I am only ever going to buy organic cotton or bamboo cotton clothing (which is a good alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my child but I am definitely going try to whenever possible.
