Organic Baby Clothes OXFORD

Before I had my first child, I never really thought I would belong to a mothers group. However, now that I have become a mother, being able to talk to other parents about what is happening in my life has benefited me immensely. We discuss how we deal with our children, what to do and not to do, we share meal plans, and we love to chat about the most recent baby clothes we have picked up.

I usually get together with 2 other parents, once a month, to find out the latest gossip. We often meet at Phillips Grocery (which is in OXFORD, MS) as that is quite central for all of us. Last month was more eye opening seeing we chatted about organic baby clothes. I have been feeding my baby organic food from the start but I had never thought about buying organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most popular products in the world and one of the most ruinous to the environment and to farm employees. The run off from cotton farms has ruined ecosystems and especially water supplies. Organic produce is produced without the need for artificial fertilisers and pesticides. Instead, organic farming depends on things like crop rotation, enhancing soils naturally, and using organic insect control techniques.

Benefits of Organic Baby Clothing

Purchasing organic produce means you are purchasing products which have been produced in an eco-friendly manner, or at the very least in a way which causes less pollution of soils and waterways. No or reduced use of insecticides and fertilisers means less pollution of our soils and lakes, fewer diseases for farm employees, and fewer health risks for our children by reducing their contact with potentially dangerous chemicals.

A number of wholesalers of baby clothes also produce a range of organic clothes or you can find stores solely devoted to organic baby fashion. Thankfully, there are a lot of designs to choose from and all ages are provided for, from infants to teenagers. Naturally, organic fashion for men and women is also available and I am looking into that for myself and my partner.

I do not think that I am only going to get organic cotton or bamboo clothing (which is a good alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my child but I am definitely going try to whenever it is available.
