Organic Baby Clothes NEW LONDON
Filed Under (Organic Baby Clothes) by Kaye on 26-07-2008
Before I had my first child, I never believed I would be part of a mothers group. Anyhow, now that I am finally a new mother, talking to other mothers about what is happening in my life has been a huge help. We discuss how we raise our children, what to do and not to do, we share meal plans, and we like to chat about the newest baby fashions we have picked up.
I more often than not get together with 2 other parents, once a month, to catch up on the latest gossip. We often meet at First Wok (which is in NEW LONDON, CT) as that is fairly central for all of us. Last month was particularly eye opening because we chatted about baby clothes. I have been feeding my baby organic food from the start but it had never crossed my mind to getting organic clothing for her.
Cotton is one of the most broadly grown crops in America and one of the most ruinous to the ecosystem and to farm employees. The run off from non-organic cotton farms has damaged ecosystems and especially water ways. Organic produce is produced without the need for artificial fertilisers and pesticides. Instead, organic farming relies on things like crop rotation, raising the quality of soils naturally, and using eco friendly pest control techniques.
You can get organic baby apparel online from a number of retailers. Sckoon is my favourite for organic baby clothes.

Benefits of Choosing Organic Products
Getting organic clothes means you are buying produce which have been produced in an eco-friendly manner, or at least in a way which causes less pollution of soils and waterways. No or reduced use of insecticides and fertilizers means less pollution of our soils and rivers, fewer diseases for farmers, and fewer health risks for our babies and children by reducing their contact with potentially dangerous chemicals.
Several retailers of baby clothes also make a range of organic clothes or you can find wholesalers entirely devoted to organic baby clothes. Either way, there are a lot of brands to choose from and all ages are catered for, from babies to teenagers. Obviously, organic clothes for men and women is also accessible and I am looking into that for myself and my partner.
I am not saying that I am just going to buy organic cotton or bamboo cotton clothing (which is a good alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my baby but I am definitely going try to whenever possible.
