Organic Baby Clothes MINNEAPOLIS

Filed Under (Organic Baby Clothes) by Kaye on 17-07-2010

Before I had my first child, I had not believed I would belong to a mothers group. However, now that I am a new mother, chatting to other women about what is happening in my life has really helped me. We discuss how we bring up our children, what to do and not to do, we share recipes, and we love to chat about the newest baby outfits we have picked up.

I more often than not go out with 3 other mothers, once a fortnight, to hear about the latest happenings. We often meet at Broders Southside Pasta Bar (which is in MINNEAPOLIS, MN) as that is quite central for all of us. Last month was really interesting because we chatted about baby clothes. I have been giving my baby organic meals from the beginning but it had never crossed my mind to buying organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most widely grown plants in the world and one of the most ruinous to the ecosystem and to farm employees. The run off from non-organic cotton farms has damaged habitats and especially water supplies. Organic cotton is grown without using artificial fertilisers and chemicals. Rather, organic farming depends on things like crop rotation, raising the quality of soils naturally, and using eco friendly pest control methods.

You can get organic cotton baby clothes online from a number of stores. Sckoon has some gorgeous organic baby clothes.

Benefits of Organic Baby Clothing

Buying organic clothes means you are purchasing produce which have been produced in an eco friendly manner, or at a minimum in a way which causes less damage to our habitat. No or reduced use of pesticides and fertilisers means less pollution of our soils and rivers, fewer cancers for farmers, and fewer health risks for our babies and children by moderating their contact with dangerous chemicals.

Several producers of baby clothes also make a range of organic clothing or you can find designers entirely dedicated to organic baby clothes. Either way, there are a lot of designs to choose from and all ages are taken care of, from infants to teenagers. Obviously, organic clothing for men and women is also available and I am looking into that for myself and my husband.

I would not go as far to say that I am just going to purchase organic cotton or bamboo clothing (which is an amazing alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my children but I am absolutely going try to whenever I can.
