Organic Baby Clothes MIAMI
Filed Under (Organic Baby Clothes) by Kaye on 10-12-2008
Long before I had my children, I never thought I would be part of a mothers group. Anyhow, now that I am finally a mum, being able to talk to other parents about what is happening in my life has really helped me. We discuss how we deal with our children, what to do and not to do, we share meal plans, and we enjoy being able to discuss the latest baby outfits we have purchased.
I more often than not get together with 3 other mothers, once a month, to find out the latest happenings. We usually meet at Dewan Restaurant (which is in MIAMI, FL) as that is fairly central for all of us. Last week was really eye opening seeing we talked about organic baby clothes. I have been feeding my baby organic produce from day one but it had never crossed my mind to getting organic clothing for her.
Cotton is one of the most popular products in the US and one of the most harmful to the ecosystem and to farm workers. The run off from non-organic cotton farms has destroyed the environment and particularly water ways. Organic cotton is made without using artificial fertilisers and chemicals. Alternatively, organic farming relies on things like crop rotation, raising the quality of soils naturally, and using organic insect control practices.
You can purchase organic baby clothing online from a number of stores. Sckoon is my favourite for organic baby apparel.

Benefits of Organic Baby Clothing
Buying organic produce means you are getting clothes which have been produced in an environmentally friendly manner, or at a minimum in a way which causes less contamination of soils and waterways. No or a reduction in the use of insecticides and fertilisers means less pollution of our land and waterways, fewer cancers for farm workers, and fewer health risks for our children by moderating their contact with dangerous chemicals.
A number of retailers of baby clothes also make a range of organic clothing or you can find companies completely dedicated to organic baby clothing. Either way, there are a lot of brands to choose from and all ages are catered for, from toddlers to adolescents. Obviously, organic fashion for men and women is also obtainable and I am looking into that for myself and my man.
I am not saying that I am just going to buy organic cotton or bamboo clothes (which is an amazing alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my baby but I am most definitely going try to whenever possible.
