Organic Baby Clothes MARS

Long before I had my first child, I never thought I would join a mothers group. Anyhow, now that I have become a mother, being able to talk to other parents about what is going on in my life has benefited me immensely. We talk about how we deal with our children, what to do and not to do, we share recipes, and we love to discuss the newest baby clothes we have picked up.

I usually meet with 4 other parents, once a fortnight, to hear about the latest gossip. We often meet at Good Ole Uncle Bobs (which is in MARS, PA) as that is quite central for all of us. Last month was more interesting as we chatted about organic baby clothing. I have been providing my baby boy organic produce from day one but it had never crossed my mind to purchasing organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most popular products in America and one of the most devastating to the environment and to farmers. The run off from these farms has destroyed ecosystems and particularly water ways. Organic products are made without the need for artificial fertilisers and insecticides. Instead, organic farming depends upon things like crop rotation, enhancing soils naturally, and using eco friendly pest control techniques.

You can get organic cotton baby outfits online from a number of retailers. Sckoon has some gorgeous organic baby clothes.

Benefits of Organic Clothing

Buying organic produce means you are getting clothes which have been produced in an eco-friendly manner, or at the very least in a way which causes less contamination of our habitat. No or reduced use of insecticides and synthetic fertilisers means less pollution of our land and waterways, less diseases for farm workers, and fewer health risks for children by reducing their contact with potentially dangerous chemicals.

Several producers of baby clothes also sell a range of organic items or you can find stores solely committed to organic baby clothes. Either way, there are a lot of brands to choose from and all ages are provided for, from infants to older children. Naturally, organic clothing for men and women is also accessible and I am looking into that for myself and my partner.

I would not go as far to say that I am just going to buy organic cotton or bamboo clothes (which is an excellent alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my baby but I am definitely going try to whenever it is available.
