Organic Baby Clothes LEXINGTON

Filed Under (Organic Baby Clothes) by Kaye on 03-05-2010

Before I had my children, I never really believed I would be part of a mothers group. Anyhow, now that I am a new mother, talking to other women about what is happening in my life has really helped me. We chat about how we deal with our children, what to do and not to do, we share baby food recipes, and we enjoy being able to talk about the most recent baby clothes we have picked up.

I more often than not meet with 2 other parents, once a week, to hear about the latest gossip. We usually meet at Big Jims BBQ & Soul Food Restaurant (which is in LEXINGTON, TN) as that is quite central for all of us. Last month was particularly interesting as we chatted about baby clothes. I have been providing my baby boy organic food from the start but I had not considered getting organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most broadly grown products in the world and one of the most harmful to the environment and to farmers. The run off from these farms has ruined ecosystems and especially water bodies. Organic produce is produced without using artificial fertilisers and pesticides. Rather, organic farming depends on things like crop rotation, raising the quality of soils naturally, and using organic insect control practices.

You can buy organic baby clothing online from a number of retailers. Sckoon is my favourite for organic baby clothes.

Benefits of Organic Baby Clothing

Purchasing organic clothing means you are purchasing produce which have been produced in an environmentally friendly manner, or at a minimum in a way which causes less contamination of soils and waterways. No or less use of herbicides and synthetic fertilisers means less pollution of our soils and waterways, fewer health problems for farm workers, and fewer health risks for our babies and children by moderating their contact with toxic chemicals.

Quite a few retailers of baby clothes also make a range of organic items or you can find designers completely dedicated to organic baby fashion. Anyway, there are a lot of marks to choose from and all ages are catered for, from infants to teenagers. Of course, organic clothes for men and women is also obtainable and I am looking into that for myself and my partner.

I do not think that I am just going to purchase organic cotton or bamboo clothes (which is an amazing alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my baby but I am definitely going try to whenever I can.
