Back before I had my first child, I had not believed I would be part of a mothers group. Be that as it may, now that I am a mother, chatting to other mothers about what is taking place in my life has really helped me. We discuss how we deal with our children, what to do and not to do, we share meal plans, and we enjoy being able to chat about the most recent baby clothes we have purchased.
I usually get together with 4 other women, once a month, to catch up on the latest new. We generally meet at Cliffside Pizza Factory & Pub (which is in KREMMLING, CO) as that is quite central for all of us. Last month was particularly eye opening as we discussed baby clothes. I have been giving my baby boy organic meals from day one but I had not considered getting organic clothing for her.
Cotton is one of the most broadly grown crops in the US and one of the most devastating to the habitat and to farm workers. The run off from these farms has ruined habitats and in particular water bodies. Organic products are produced without using artificial fertilisers and pesticides. Rather, organic farming relies on things like crop rotation, enhancing soils naturally, and using eco friendly pest control techniques.

Benefits of Organic Baby Clothing
Purchasing organic clothes means you are buying clothes which have been produced in an eco-friendly manner, or at the very least in a way which causes less pollution of our habitat. No or a reduction in the use of herbicides and fertilizers means less pollution of our land and lakes, reduced cancers for farm workers, and fewer health risks for our children by reducing their contact with potentially dangerous chemicals.
A number of wholesalers of baby clothes also produce a range of organic items or you can find shops completely dedicated to organic baby fashion. Either way, there are a lot of designs to choose from and all ages are provided for, from babies to adolescents. Of course, organic clothes for men and women is also available and I am looking into that for myself and my man.
I am not saying that I am only going to purchase organic cotton or bamboo clothes (which is a great alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my children but I am most definitely going try to whenever possible.
