Organic Baby Clothes JERSEY CITY

Long before I had my first child, I never imagined I would join a mothers group. However, now that I am a new mother, chatting to other mothers about what is going on in my life has really helped me. We chat about how we bring up our children, what to do and not to do, we share recipes, and we love to talk about the newest baby outfits we have purchased.

I more often than not meet with 2 other parents, once a week, to hear about the latest new. We often meet at LA Placita Restaurant (which is in JERSEY CITY, NJ) as that is fairly central for all of us. Last week was more interesting because we discussed baby clothes. I have been giving my baby girl organic produce from day one but I had not considered purchasing organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most broadly grown crops in the world and one of the most devastating to the environment and to farmers. The run off from cotton farms has damaged habitats and especially water ways. Organic cotton is made without the use of artificial fertilisers and chemicals. Alternatively, organic farming relies on things like crop rotation, improving soils naturally, and using organic insect control methods.

Benefits of Organic Clothing

Getting organic products means you are buying produce which have been produced in an environmentally friendly manner, or at least in a way which causes less damage to our habitat. No or reduced use of insecticides and synthetic fertilisers means less pollution of our farms and waterways, fewer health problems for farm workers, and fewer health risks for our babies and children by moderating their contact with toxic chemicals.

Several wholesalers of baby clothes also produce a range of organic clothes or you can find companies completely dedicated to organic baby clothing. Thankfully, there are a lot of brands to choose from and all ages are catered for, from babies to older children. Naturally, organic fashion for men and women is also obtainable and I am looking into that for myself and my husband.

I do not think that I am only going to get organic cotton or bamboo clothes (which is a good alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my children but I am definitely going try to whenever possible.
