Organic Baby Clothes JEFFERSON CITY

Long before I had my baby, I never really believed I would belong to a mothers group. However, now that I am finally a mother, being able to talk to other mothers about what is taking place in my life has benefited me immensely. We talk about how we bring up our children, what to do and not to do, we share baby food recipes, and we like to discuss the most recent baby outfits we have purchased.

I usually get together with 4 other mothers, once a fortnight, to hear about the latest gossip. We generally meet at Perkins Family Restaurants (which is in JEFFERSON CITY, MO) as that is quite central for all of us. Last week was more eye opening seeing we discussed organic baby clothes. I have been giving my baby organic meals from day one but I had never thought about purchasing organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most popular crops in the world and one of the most harmful to the habitat and to farm workers. The run off from non-organic cotton farms has ruined ecosystems and particularly water supplies. Organic products are grown without the use of artificial fertilisers and pesticides. Alternatively, organic farming depends upon things like crop rotation, raising the quality of soils naturally, and using organic pest control techniques.

Benefits of Organic Clothing

Buying organic produce means you are purchasing clothes which have been produced in an eco-friendly manner, or at a minimum in a way which causes less contamination of soils and waterways. No or a reduction in the use of insecticides and fertilisers means less pollution of our farms and waterways, fewer cancers for farm employees, and fewer health risks for our children by lessening their contact with potentially dangerous chemicals.

Many wholesalers of baby clothes also sell a range of organic items or you can find wholesalers solely dedicated to organic baby fashion. Thankfully, there are a lot of brands to choose from and all ages are taken care of, from infants to older children. Naturally, organic clothes for men and women is also accessible and I am looking into that for myself and my man.

I am not saying that I am only going to get organic cotton or bamboo clothing (which is an amazing alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my baby but I am most definitely going try to whenever it is available.
