Organic Baby Clothes HAMMONTON

Filed Under (Organic Baby Clothes) by Kaye on 30-03-2010

Back before I had my children, I never thought I would be part of a mothers group. However, now that I am a mother, talking to other women about what is happening in my life has benefited me immensely. We talk about how we deal with our children, what to do and not to do, we share recipes, and we love to talk about the latest baby fashions we have purchased.

I usually get together with 3 other women, once a month, to catch up on the latest gossip. We usually meet at Trina's (which is in HAMMONTON, NJ) as that is quite central for all of us. Last month was particularly eye opening seeing we talked about baby clothes. I have been providing my baby girl organic produce from the start but I had never thought about getting organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most widely grown crops in the world and one of the most harmful to the ecosystem and to farm employees. The run off from non-organic cotton farms has ruined habitats and in particular water bodies. Organic produce is produced without using artificial fertilisers and chemicals. Rather, organic farming relies on things like crop rotation, raising the quality of soils naturally, and using organic pest control techniques.

You can get organic cotton baby clothes online from a number of stores. Sckoon is my favourite for organic baby clothing.

Benefits of Organic Clothing

Getting organic produce means you are getting clothes which have been produced in an environmentally friendly manner, or at least in a way which causes less damage to our habitat. No or reduced use of insecticides and fertilisers means less pollution of our farms and rivers, fewer health problems for farm workers, and fewer health risks for our children by reducing their contact with dangerous chemicals.

Many producers of baby clothes also produce a range of organic clothes or you can find retailers entirely dedicated to organic baby clothes. Thankfully, there are a lot of marks to choose from and all ages are taken care of, from infants to teenagers. Naturally, organic fashion for men and women is also accessible and I am looking into that for myself and my husband.

I am not saying that I am only going to purchase organic cotton or bamboo cotton clothing (which is an amazing alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my child but I am most definitely going try to whenever I can.
