Organic Baby Clothes GREENSBORO
Filed Under (Organic Baby Clothes) by Kaye on 01-07-2008
Long before I had my first child, I had not believed I would belong to a mothers group. However, now that I am a mum, chatting to other women about what is happening in my life has benefited me immensely. We discuss how we bring up our children, what to do and not to do, we share meal plans, and we enjoy being able to discuss the latest baby outfits we have picked up.
I generally meet with 2 other women, once a fortnight, to hear about the latest new. We often meet at Henry James Smoke House (which is in GREENSBORO, NC) as that is pretty central for all of us. Last week was really interesting as we chatted about organic baby clothes. I have been providing my baby organic produce from the start but it had never crossed my mind to purchasing organic clothing for her.
Cotton is one of the most popular plants in the world and one of the most devastating to the habitat and to farm workers. The run off from cotton farms has damaged the environment and particularly water bodies. Organic products are grown without using artificial fertilisers and insecticides. Rather, organic farming relies on things like crop rotation, raising the quality of soils naturally, and using organic insect control techniques.
You can buy soft organic cotton baby outfits online from a number of shops. Sckoon is my favourite for organic baby clothes.

Benefits of Organic Baby Clothing
Purchasing organic produce means you are purchasing products which have been produced in an eco-friendly manner, or at a minimum in a way which causes less pollution of soils and waterways. No or reduced use of insecticides and fertilizers means less pollution of our farms and rivers, fewer cancers for farm workers, and fewer health risks for our babies and children by lessening their contact with toxic chemicals.
Quite a few wholesalers of baby clothes also make a range of organic clothes or you can find retailers solely dedicated to organic baby clothing. Anyway, there are a lot of brands to choose from and all ages are provided for, from babies to adolescents. Obviously, organic clothing for men and women is also accessible and I am looking into that for myself and my husband.
I would not go as far to say that I am only ever going to buy organic cotton or bamboo clothes (which is a fantastic alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my children but I am most definitely going try to whenever possible.
