Organic Baby Clothes GIG HARBOR

Filed Under (Organic Baby Clothes) by Kaye on 25-10-2009

Before I had my first child, I never imagined I would be part of a mothers group. Be that as it may, now that I have become a new mother, talking to other women about what is taking place in my life has benefited me immensely. We talk about how we bring up our children, what to do and not to do, we share baby food recipes, and we enjoy being able to chat about the most recent baby outfits we have bought.

I usually meet with 3 other women, once a fortnight, to catch up on the latest gossip. We usually meet at Hy-Iu-Hee-Hee Restaurant (which is in GIG HARBOR, WA) as that is fairly central for all of us. Last month was more exciting because we discussed baby clothes. I have been providing my baby boy organic produce from the start but I had never thought about purchasing organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most broadly grown plants in the world and one of the most harmful to the ecosystem and to farm employees. The run off from non-organic cotton farms has ruined ecosystems and particularly water bodies. Organic cotton is made without the need for artificial fertilisers and chemicals. Alternatively, organic farming relies on things like crop rotation, raising the quality of soils naturally, and using organic insect control methods.

You can purchase soft organic cotton baby clothing online from a number of shops. Sckoon has some of the cutest organic baby clothing.

Benefits of Choosing Organic Products

Buying organic clothing means you are getting products which have been produced in an eco-friendly manner, or at the very least in a way which causes less contamination of soils and waterways. No or less use of pesticides and synthetic fertilisers means less pollution of our land and rivers, fewer health problems for farm workers, and fewer health risks for our babies and children by reducing their contact with dangerous chemicals.

A number of makers of baby clothes also sell a range of organic clothing or you can find stores solely committed to organic baby clothes. Either way, there are a lot of designs to choose from and all ages are provided for, from infants to older children. Naturally, organic clothing for men and women is also available and I am looking into that for myself and my husband.

I am not saying that I am only going to buy organic cotton or bamboo clothing (which is a great alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my baby but I am most definitely going try to whenever possible.
