Organic Baby Clothes FLUSHING

Long before I had my first child, I never really imagined I would be part of a mothers group. Anyhow, now that I am finally a mum, chatting to other parents about what is going on in my life has benefited me immensely. We chat about how we bring up our children, what to do and not to do, we share meal plans, and we enjoy being able to discuss the newest baby outfits we have purchased.
I generally meet with 4 other mothers, once a week, to hear about the latest gossip. We often meet at Mama Best Food Corporation (which is in FLUSHING, NY) as that is quite central for all of us. Last week was particularly exciting as we talked about organic baby clothing. I have been giving my baby organic produce from the beginning but I had never thought about buying organic clothing for her.
Cotton is one of the most widely grown crops in the US and one of the most devastating to the environment and to farm employees. The run off from these farms has destroyed ecosystems and especially water supplies. Organic products are made without using artificial fertilisers and insecticides. Instead, organic farming depends upon things like crop rotation, raising the quality of soils naturally, and using organic insect control practices.
Benefits of Organic Baby Clothing
Getting organic clothes means you are purchasing clothes which have been produced in an eco friendly manner, or at a minimum in a way which causes less contamination of our habitat. No or reduced use of pesticides and fertilizers means less pollution of our farms and rivers, reduced health problems for farm employees, and fewer health risks for children by moderating their contact with potentially dangerous chemicals.
Quite a few retailers of baby clothes also make a range of organic clothing or you can find companies solely committed to organic baby fashion. Either way, there are a lot of brands to choose from and all ages are taken care of, from infants to teenagers. Of course, organic fashion for men and women is also available and I am looking into that for myself and my husband.
I do not think that I am only going to get organic cotton or bamboo clothes (which is an amazing alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my child but I am definitely going try to whenever possible.
