Before I had my baby, I never really believed I would be part of a mothers group. Anyhow, now that I have become a mother, chatting to other women about what is happening in my life has really helped me. We chat about how we raise our children, what to do and not to do, we share baby food recipes, and we like to discuss the most recent baby fashions we have bought.

I usually get together with 2 other mothers, once a fortnight, to hear about the latest new. We usually meet at Buddy's Diner (which is in EUGENE, OR) as that is quite central for all of us. Purchasing organic clothes means you are getting products which have been produced in an eco-friendly manner, or at the very least in a way which causes less damage to the environment. No or less use of pesticides and fertilizers means less pollution of our farms and rivers, reduced diseases for farmers, and fewer health risks for our babies and children by moderating their contact with toxic chemicals.

Thankfully, there are a lot of brands to choose from and all ages are taken care of, from babies to older children. Of course, organic clothing for men and women is also obtainable and I am looking into that for myself and my partner.

I am not saying that I am just going to purchase organic cotton or bamboo clothing (which is a fantastic alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my child but I am most definitely going try to whenever it is available.
