Organic Baby Clothes DUNCAN

Long before I had my children, I never believed I would join a mothers group. However, now that I am a mother, being able to talk to other parents about what is happening in my life has benefited me immensely. We talk about how we deal with our children, what to do and not to do, we share recipes, and we enjoy being able to chat about the latest baby outfits we have bought.

I more often than not go out with 4 other parents, once a month, to catch up on the latest happenings. We often meet at Hickory STIX BBQ (which is in DUNCAN, OK) as that is pretty central for all of us. Last time was particularly interesting because we chatted about organic baby clothes. I have been providing my baby boy organic meals from the start but I had never thought about buying organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most broadly grown products in the US and one of the most devastating to the environment and to farm workers. The run off from cotton farms has destroyed habitats and especially water ways. Organic cotton is made without the need for artificial fertilisers and insecticides. Instead, organic farming depends upon things like crop rotation, improving soils naturally, and using organic pest control techniques.

Benefits of Organic Baby Clothing

Buying organic clothes means you are getting produce which have been produced in an eco-friendly manner, or at least in a way which causes less damage to our habitat. No or a reduction in the use of insecticides and fertilisers means less pollution of our land and waterways, reduced health problems for farm employees, and fewer health risks for children by reducing their contact with potentially dangerous chemicals.

Quite a few producers of baby clothes also sell a range of organic items or you can find wholesalers completely devoted to organic baby clothes. Thankfully, there are a lot of marks to choose from and all ages are taken care of, from toddlers to adolescents. Obviously, organic clothes for men and women is also accessible and I am looking into that for myself and my husband.

I am not saying that I am only ever going to buy organic cotton or bamboo clothing (which is an excellent alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my baby but I am absolutely going try to whenever I can.
