Organic Baby Clothes DETROIT

Filed Under (Organic Baby Clothes) by Kaye on 20-11-2009

Long before I had my baby, I had not thought I would be part of a mothers group. Be that as it may, now that I am a mother, talking to other women about what is happening in my life has really helped me. We talk about how we deal with our children, what to do and not to do, we share baby food recipes, and we like to chat about the latest baby outfits we have picked up.

I usually get together with 4 other mothers, once a month, to find out the latest gossip. We often meet at Cora Seafood Market (which is in DETROIT, MI) as that is quite central for all of us. Last month was really eye opening because we chatted about baby clothes. I have been giving my baby boy organic meals from day one but I had not considered getting organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most popular products in the US and one of the most ruinous to the environment and to farm workers. The run off from these farms has damaged ecosystems and in particular water ways. Organic cotton is made without using artificial fertilisers and chemicals. Rather, organic farming relies on things like crop rotation, raising the quality of soils naturally, and using organic insect control techniques.

You can purchase organic baby clothing online from a number of stores. Sckoon has some gorgeous organic baby clothing.

Benefits of Organic Clothing

Getting organic clothes means you are buying produce which have been produced in an eco-friendly manner, or at the very least in a way which causes less contamination of the environment. No or reduced use of herbicides and fertilizers means less pollution of our soils and lakes, reduced health problems for farm employees, and fewer health risks for our babies and children by moderating their contact with toxic chemicals.

A number of makers of baby clothes also sell a range of organic clothes or you can find companies completely dedicated to organic baby clothing. Anyway, there are a lot of designs to choose from and all ages are catered for, from babies to adolescents. Of course, organic fashion for men and women is also available and I am looking into that for myself and my man.

I am not saying that I am just going to purchase organic cotton or bamboo cotton clothing (which is a good alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my children but I am definitely going try to whenever it is available.
