Organic Baby Clothes DES MOINES

Filed Under (Organic Baby Clothes) by Kaye on 12-11-2008

Back before I had my children, I never thought I would join a mothers group. Anyhow, now that I am finally a mother, talking to other women about what is taking place in my life has really helped me. We talk about how we bring up our children, what to do and not to do, we share meal plans, and we like to discuss the latest baby outfits we have purchased.

I usually get together with 2 other women, once a fortnight, to find out the latest new. We generally meet at El Aguila Real Mexican (which is in DES MOINES, IA) as that is quite central for all of us. Last time was more exciting as we talked about baby clothes. I have been providing my baby organic food from the start but it had never crossed my mind to purchasing organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most popular plants in America and one of the most devastating to the ecosystem and to farm employees. The run off from non-organic cotton farms has destroyed ecosystems and in particular water ways. Organic cotton is grown without the need for artificial fertilisers and insecticides. Instead, organic farming depends upon things like crop rotation, enhancing soils naturally, and using organic insect control methods.

You can purchase organic cotton baby clothing online from a number of retailers. Sckoon has some beautiful organic baby clothes.

Benefits of Choosing Organic Products

Buying organic products means you are buying products which have been produced in an environmentally friendly manner, or at the very least in a way which causes less pollution of the environment. No or less use of insecticides and synthetic fertilisers means less pollution of our soils and rivers, reduced cancers for farmers, and fewer health risks for our babies and children by reducing their contact with dangerous chemicals.

Quite a few producers of baby clothes also sell a range of organic clothes or you can find stores completely devoted to organic baby fashion. Anyway, there are a lot of marks to choose from and all ages are provided for, from infants to teenagers. Obviously, organic clothing for men and women is also accessible and I am looking into that for myself and my husband.

I would not go as far to say that I am only going to purchase organic cotton or bamboo cotton clothing (which is a fantastic alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my baby but I am without a doubt going try to whenever possible.
