Organic Baby Clothes COVINGTON

Back before I had my baby, I had not believed I would be part of a mothers group. Anyhow, now that I have become a new mother, talking to other mothers about what is happening in my life has benefited me immensely. We talk about how we deal with our children, what to do and not to do, we share recipes, and we love to discuss the latest baby outfits we have purchased.

I generally get together with 3 other mothers, once a fortnight, to hear about the latest happenings. We generally meet at Willie's Sports Cafe (which is in COVINGTON, KY) as that is fairly central for all of us. Last week was more eye opening as we chatted about organic baby clothes. I have been feeding my baby girl organic produce from the start but I had never thought about buying organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most broadly grown products in the US and one of the most ruinous to the ecosystem and to farm workers. The run off from non-organic cotton farms has destroyed the environment and particularly water bodies. Organic products are made without using artificial fertilisers and pesticides. Instead, organic farming relies on things like crop rotation, enhancing soils naturally, and using organic insect control methods.

Benefits of Organic Baby Clothing

Getting organic clothes means you are buying clothes which have been produced in an environmentally friendly manner, or at the very least in a way which causes less pollution of soils and waterways. No or reduced use of herbicides and fertilisers means less pollution of our soils and rivers, reduced health problems for farm workers, and fewer health risks for our babies and children by moderating their contact with dangerous chemicals.

Many makers of baby clothes also sell a range of organic clothing or you can find retailers completely committed to organic baby clothing. Anyway, there are a lot of brands to choose from and all ages are catered for, from babies to older children. Obviously, organic clothes for men and women is also obtainable and I am looking into that for myself and my partner.

I do not think that I am only going to buy organic cotton or bamboo clothing (which is an amazing alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my baby but I am absolutely going try to whenever I can.
