Organic Baby Clothes City

Filed Under (Organic Baby Clothes) by Kaye on 20-12-2008

Long before I had my baby, I never thought I would join a mothers group. Be that as it may, now that I am a mother, being able to talk to other women about what is taking place in my life has benefited me immensely. We discuss how we deal with our children, what to do and not to do, we share baby food recipes, and we love to talk about the newest baby clothes we have picked up.

I generally meet with 2 other parents, once a month, to find out the latest new. We often meet at Name (which is in City, State) as that is quite central for all of us. Last week was really eye opening because we chatted about organic baby clothing. I have been feeding my baby girl organic food from the beginning but I had never thought about getting organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most popular crops in the world and one of the most ruinous to the habitat and to farmers. The run off from cotton farms has ruined ecosystems and particularly water bodies. Organic products are made without the use of artificial fertilisers and pesticides. Instead, organic farming relies on things like crop rotation, raising the quality of soils naturally, and using eco friendly pest control techniques.

You can get organic baby clothing online from a number of stores. Sckoon has some beautiful organic baby apparel.

Benefits of Organic Clothing

Purchasing organic products means you are purchasing products which have been produced in an eco friendly manner, or at least in a way which causes less contamination of soils and waterways. No or less use of pesticides and fertilizers means less pollution of our land and lakes, fewer health problems for farm workers, and fewer health risks for our babies and children by moderating their contact with toxic chemicals.

A number of makers of baby clothes also sell a range of organic clothing or you can find retailers solely dedicated to organic baby fashion. Anyway, there are a lot of designs to choose from and all ages are provided for, from toddlers to adolescents. Of course, organic clothing for men and women is also accessible and I am looking into that for myself and my man.

I am not saying that I am just going to get organic cotton or bamboo cotton clothing (which is a good alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my child but I am absolutely going try to whenever I can.

  1. Have you heard of a company called Halo that makes sleepsacks? they have come out with an organic line of sleepsacks and rompers that are so soft and all made without yucky chemicals and dyes. I haven’t seen them in stores, but we have bought off the website (halosleep.com). Since a sleepsack is the best thing to have your baby sleep in, having an organic option is just wonderful! all “organic mommys” should check them out!
