Organic Baby Clothes CHICAGO

Back before I had my children, I had not believed I would belong to a mothers group. However, now that I am a mum, chatting to other parents about what is taking place in my life has benefited me immensely. We discuss how we bring up our children, what to do and not to do, we share baby food recipes, and we love to talk about the newest baby clothes we have purchased.

I generally go out with 4 other parents, once a month, to hear about the latest new. We usually meet at Petro's Pancake House and Restaurant (which is in CHICAGO, IL) as that is fairly central for all of us. Last week was really interesting because we chatted about organic baby clothes. I have been giving my baby boy organic produce from the beginning but I had not considered buying organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most widely grown plants in America and one of the most harmful to the habitat and to farm workers. The run off from non-organic cotton farms has ruined ecosystems and particularly water ways. Organic products are made without the use of artificial fertilisers and pesticides. Alternatively, organic farming relies on things like crop rotation, enhancing soils naturally, and using eco friendly pest control methods.

Benefits of Organic Clothing

Getting organic clothes means you are purchasing clothes which have been produced in an eco friendly manner, or at least in a way which causes less pollution of the environment. No or a reduction in the use of insecticides and fertilizers means less pollution of our soils and rivers, less health problems for farm workers, and fewer health risks for our children by moderating their contact with dangerous chemicals.

Quite a few producers of baby clothes also sell a range of organic clothing or you can find companies completely devoted to organic baby clothes. Thankfully, there are a lot of designs to choose from and all ages are provided for, from infants to older children. Of course, organic clothes for men and women is also accessible and I am looking into that for myself and my partner.

I am not saying that I am only ever going to buy organic cotton or bamboo clothes (which is a fantastic alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my baby but I am without a doubt going try to whenever I can.
