Organic Baby Clothes CHELSEA

Back before I had my first child, I never imagined I would be part of a mothers group. However, now that I am finally a mother, being able to talk to other women about what is taking place in my life has been a huge help. We talk about how we deal with our children, what to do and not to do, we share recipes, and we love to talk about the latest baby clothes we have picked up.

I generally go out with 2 other mothers, once a month, to hear about the latest new. We generally meet at Peking Garden Restaurant of Revere (which is in CHELSEA, MA) as that is fairly central for all of us. Last month was really eye opening seeing we talked about baby clothes. I have been feeding my baby girl organic food from the beginning but I had never thought about buying organic clothing for her.

Cotton is one of the most popular plants in America and one of the most devastating to the habitat and to farmers. The run off from cotton farms has destroyed ecosystems and in particular water ways. Organic products are made without using artificial fertilisers and chemicals. Rather, organic farming depends upon things like crop rotation, raising the quality of soils naturally, and using eco friendly pest control practices.

Benefits of Organic Baby Clothing

Getting organic clothing means you are purchasing produce which have been produced in an eco-friendly manner, or at a minimum in a way which causes less damage to the environment. No or reduced use of herbicides and fertilisers means less pollution of our farms and rivers, fewer health problems for farm workers, and fewer health risks for our children by lessening their contact with toxic chemicals.

Quite a few retailers of baby clothes also make a range of organic clothing or you can find companies completely committed to organic baby fashion. Anyway, there are a lot of brands to choose from and all ages are provided for, from toddlers to teenagers. Obviously, organic clothes for men and women is also available and I am looking into that for myself and my husband.

I do not think that I am only ever going to get organic cotton or bamboo clothes (which is a great alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my child but I am definitely going try to whenever possible.
