Organic Baby Clothes CHARLESTOWN

Before I had my first child, I never really thought I would belong to a mothers group. Be that as it may, now that I am finally a mum, chatting to other parents about what is going on in my life has been a huge help. We discuss how we raise our children, what to do and not to do, we share baby food recipes, and we enjoy being able to chat about the most recent baby outfits we have purchased.
I more often than not go out with 2 other women, once a week, to hear about the latest gossip. We generally meet at Market St Cafe (which is in CHARLESTOWN, MD) as that is quite central for all of us. Last time was really interesting because we talked about baby clothes. I have been giving my baby organic produce from the start but it had never crossed my mind to buying organic clothing for her.
Cotton is one of the most broadly grown products in the world and one of the most harmful to the ecosystem and to farm employees. The run off from cotton farms has destroyed the environment and especially water ways. Organic produce is made without the need for artificial fertilisers and insecticides. Instead, organic farming depends on things like crop rotation, raising the quality of soils naturally, and using organic pest control practices.
Benefits of Organic Clothing
Getting organic produce means you are getting clothes which have been produced in an environmentally friendly manner, or at a minimum in a way which causes less pollution of our habitat. No or less use of herbicides and synthetic fertilisers means less pollution of our farms and waterways, reduced diseases for farmers, and fewer health risks for our children by reducing their contact with toxic chemicals.
Many retailers of baby clothes also produce a range of organic clothes or you can find retailers entirely dedicated to organic baby clothing. Either way, there are a lot of brands to choose from and all ages are catered for, from infants to older children. Obviously, organic clothing for men and women is also obtainable and I am looking into that for myself and my man.
I would not go as far to say that I am only going to get organic cotton or bamboo clothes (which is a great alternative to regular or organic cotton) for my baby but I am most definitely going try to whenever possible.
